Stratmoor is an unincorporated community directly south of Colorado Springs and north of Fort Carson, occupying a narrow corridor that developed primarily in the 1950s and 1960s to support the military community at the base. Homes here are almost entirely post-war modest construction — small ranch homes on small lots, most built in a ten-year window after Fort Carson expanded.
